Internships: Western & Southern Open

Good Afternoon,

We are excited for another great year here at Cincinnati Tennis LLC.  We are offering (5 week, 3 week and a new 2 week) Field Service internship this year.  These internships are designed to provide the individual with the understanding of how a world class event sporting event runs.  They will learn/hear from individuals who have many years of experience in the sport industry while also gaining knowledge and hands on experience in facilities and operations.  These positions are unpaid, but we strive to make them worth individuals time and effort.  Positions and dates are as listed:

2019 Summer Study Abroad: London-Dublin

London-Dublin Study Abroad (Summer 19)

Applications are open for a KNH Faculty-Led, Summer Study Abroad: Sport, Management, and Culture in the Global Marketplace: London & Dublin (Summer 2019). For the 6-credit course, students will travel to London, England (2 weeks) and Dublin, Ireland (1 week) from June 7, 2019-June 29, 2019 to examine the management of sport in British and Irish societies.

This program is open to students of all majors and academic backgrounds. However, it is intended for SLAM students with personal and professional interests in the area(s) of: sport management, sport leadership, sport marketing and communication, tourism and hospitality management, sport sociology, sport coaching, sport science, kinesiology, public health, and/or physical education.

Students enrolled in the course will receive six (6) credits toward their Global Miami Plan. They have the option of enrolling in either: KNH 499 (6 credits) or KNH 499 (3) & KNH 414 (3). This program will be useful to those students still needing to satisfy their KNH Matrix (KNH 499) and/or Facility and Event Management (KNH 414) requirements for graduation.

The cost of the program is $4,100.The program fee includes accommodation, meals, site visits, group meetings, activities, and sporting event tickets. Students will also be responsible for airfare (~$900) and tuition per credit.

Admission to the program is rolling – applications will be reviewed in the order in which they are receive. The final deadline to apply is March 1st, 2019. To apply, students should go to the Miami Global Initiatives website: http://miamioh.edu/global-initiatives/study-abroad/

Internship: Miami University Football

I recently received the following message from a staff member of the football team:
